December 11th was the day of the black belt test, in which we would like to congratulate Mr. Kennett on achieving his goal of San-Dan! You have obtained a goal that many cannot or will not wait that long for. You have been very successful and an inspiration to all of us.
The judges for Mr. Kennett’s black belt test included: Sensei, Mr. Stone and Mr. Gramling. The attending black belts were: Mr. Logan, Mr. Hanger, Miss. Stone, and Mr. Bottrell. Afterwards there was a black belt clinic in which the black belts go to learn a few new self-defense techniques, thanks to Mr. Gramling. The black belts also had the opportunity to review a number of katas with and without weapons. Between the two workouts, everyone got a chance to socialize with one another and become one. This is a very important factor in learning the following virtues: respect, compassion, gratitude, honor and patience.
